About the brand｜エルジン

1864年、シカゴでナショナル・ウォッチ・カンパニーとして設立。B・W・レイモンドら七人の出資で始まり、1866年にイリノイ州エルジンへ移ります。

最初のムーブメントは1867年、出資者の名を冠した18サイズのB.W.レイモンド。1910年には自前の天文台を建て、操業期間を通じておよそ6000万個を送り出しました。

クォーツ以前に輸入品との競争で力尽き、1964年に工場が閉鎖、1968年に米国での製造を終えます。商標は転売を重ね、現在エルジン名で売られる時計は当時の会社とつながりません。

A dial worked in a geometric pyramid pattern, with matching decoration along the case sides. Each change of light changes the expression of the watch. The aesthetic of the 1970s, concentrated into a small object.

Offered in excellent condition with its period box and warranty papers — accessories that are rarely still together.
