The case is 14K gold filled, warm rather than showy, with slim and well-proportioned lugs. Three-dimensional wedge markers are used for the indices, with an Arabic numeral standing proudly at twelve. Sharp, radiating hands pull the whole dial into focus.

An 11-jewel hand-wound movement carrying the ambitions of its engineers, fitted with SHOCK-RESIST shock protection and a NIVAFLEX mainspring — both signs of how seriously reliability was taken.

The stamping reading "14K GOLD FILLED II STAINLESS BACK D14054", and the perlage decoration inside the case back, show Japanese craft applied to places nobody was meant to look.
