About the brand｜ミドー

1918年11月11日、スイス・ビール。ジョルジュ・シェーレンが設立しました。社名はスペイン語のyo mido「私は測る」から採られています。

1934年のマルチフォートは、防水・耐磁・耐衝撃をひとつにまとめたシリーズで、翌1935年には自動巻きが加わります。リューズの防水にコルクを使う方式は、のちにアクアデュラの名で呼ばれるようになりました。

1971年にゼネラル・ウォッチ社を通じてASUAGの傘下へ入ります。ASUAG破綻後はスウォッチグループに属し、現在はル・ロックルを拠点に、認定クロノメーターの生産本数で上位に数えられるブランドです。

A small 30mm Mido Multifort has arrived.

Mido was founded in 1918 under the brand slogan that being beyond time is the proof of truly good design.

Since then it has kept making watches that combine distinctive, period-free design with real function, and has produced mechanical watches for more than a century.

The case is pink gold plated, for a calm impression.

The dial is a copper and silver bullseye.

The copper has weathered dry, yet its lustrous colour brings out this watch's appeal.

What can be seen in the shadow of the hands at around 19:47, left after long years away from human hands, may in fact be closer to its original colour.
