The Bulova Oceanographer arrived in 1969. Its 666-feet water resistance gave it the affectionate nickname Devil Diver.

The red arc between five and fifteen minutes on the black bezel is a practical device for checking decompression times.

The raised cylindrical markers have turned amber with age, which gives the watch a particular warmth.
