— How the Komandirskie came about —
In 1942 the Second Moscow Watch Factory was evacuated from the fighting to Chistopol, and what would become Vostok was born.
In 1965 the firm was certified as an official supplier to the Soviet Ministry of Defence, and the Komandirskie military wristwatch was developed.

The company name Vostok comes from Vostok 1, the spacecraft Gagarin flew.
