IWC Old Inter ref.R810A cal.8541B / 1968, Solid Gold, Pellaton Automatic

A solid gold Old Inter made in 1968 has arrived.

Baton indexes and a date display sit in fine harmony with a champagne hairline finish.

The double marking of the IWC logo — in script, and in the upright form still used today — makes an understated accent.

The movement is the Cal.8541B, whose "B" suffix indicates a hacking function.

It is the final form of the Pellaton automatic 85 family: highly practical, allowing the date to be changed by moving back and forth between 23:45 and 24:00, with excellent winding efficiency and serviceability — a celebrated calibre that still carries the name of IWC's engineer Albert Pellaton.

A sharp face very much IWC's own, which loses none of its bearing as the years pass, and a beautifully balanced form that gives a solid, dependable impression.
