— A movement from abroad —
A Seiko fitted with the Cal.5328 from Fontainemelon, the long-established Swiss movement maker — a rare thing, known as a "Swiss Seiko."
It is one of the unusual models born in the 1970s, when Seiko had astonished the world by developing quartz and was working to broaden its mechanical range for the next generation.
— Where Switzerland crosses in —
In Switzerland it was normal for établisseurs to receive movements from machine makers and assemble watches.
But Seiko was a manufacture that produced everything in house — hands, dials, cases, even hairsprings — so a watch carrying a Swiss movement in a limited run is a rare chapter indeed: a watch with a foreign heart.
— Refinement in a small size —
A 32mm case.
Small and yet refined, with a stylish bearing.
A sophisticated design fusing the classical with the modern, colouring the wrist.
— A two-tone dial —
The dial is a two-tone silver.
The centre has a lustrous satin finish, making a handsome contrast with the outer zone.
All-Arabic indexes stand in strict order and, with pencil hands, create a good atmosphere.
Highly legible, with fine, careful making that stands out.
— An older flow of time —
At six sits a small seconds with an antique air, in fine harmony with the modern elements.
That small circle marking time gives the whole dial a quiet rhythm and brings out the beauty of the watch further still.
