A vintage Hamilton with distinctive details has arrived.

The marking on the caseback, "Lancaster, PA," refers to the place where the Hamilton Watch Company was founded in 1892.

It made its name supplying accurate pocket watches as the American railways developed, and came to be called the king of the railway watch.

The "Lancaster, PA" marking is often seen on models made before the Swiss acquisition of 1969 in particular, and is regarded as an important detail for judging the authenticity and the period of an American-made Hamilton.
