— A little wit, keeping time —
Ingersoll, founded in the United States in 1892, made the world's first Mickey Mouse watch in 1931 — the legendary "moving Mickey" that became a phenomenon. In Japan the model is also remembered because a remake of that first watch was worn by the Showa Emperor until the end of his life.
This is Ingersoll's 30's Collection, which brings that classical, likeable design back with an antique finish and a good deal of nostalgia.
— An icon on the dial —
At the centre is old-style Mickey, smiling. His arms are the hour and minute hands, turning to tell you the time with considerable charm. At six, small Mickeys chase each other round the small seconds. It is hard to look at and stay serious.
— Detail in three dimensions —
The bracelet where it meets the case is worked with a raised Mickey motif, which gives it the presence of jewellery. A vintage finish on the stainless steel lends the depth of something long used.
— The warmth of mechanics —
The feel of the crown under the fingers and the fine beat you can hear if you listen: the warmth and romance that belong only to mechanical watches.
