Black geometric patterning and deep gold markers. The guilloché engraving at the centre of the dial shows a different face at every angle of light — the concentrated design sense of Swiss watchmaking at its most refined.

The pink gold plating has taken on the particular ageing that only vintage gives. Raised wedge markers reach in from a white ring, and a small seconds sits neatly at six. The dynamic layout is mid-century modern, and it takes the eye every time the watch appears from a cuff.

The pleasant resistance of the crown, and the quiet, regular beat of a small mechanism. The Tavannes (Cyma) movement, with shock protection and anti-magnetic construction, has kept the essentials intact for more than half a century.
