— Wearing a longing for the future —
1970, and Expo '70 in Osaka had the world in a state of considerable excitement. This watch shuts that energy inside a small case: the flower-shaped case is the Expo '70 symbol itself, and vivid green graphics assert themselves across a clear silver dial.
— Form from a particular decade —
Raised case lines suggest five petals. Polished surfaces play against a hammered texture in a contrast of light and shadow that is pure retro-futurism, and could only have been drawn then. Behind the case back is a 17-jewel hand-wound movement that speaks for the seriousness of Ricoh's watchmaking.
— Graphic art from half a century ago —
A completed piece of graphic design that has not dated in fifty years. The vintage character brings real individuality and nostalgia to the wrist, and makes this a worthwhile collector's piece as well as a watch.
