The Rolex Precision "Metropolitan."

An unusual oversized model with an engine-turned bezel.

This ref. J8952 was made in 1964.

A 35mm 18k yellow gold case with a milled engine-turned bezel and a snap back.

A dial in the same tone as the case, with applied yellow gold indexes.

It gives a sharp, taut impression, with straight, even lugs and beautiful finishing.

Fitted with the manual-wind Cal.1210 with centre seconds.

The Cal.1210 was used in the Oyster Speedking and Oyster Royal as well as the Oyster Precision.

A small point of interest: where a Rolex calibre number ends in zero it is a no-date movement, and where it ends in five it has a date.

Remarkably, the Cal.1210 was produced from its appearance in 1950 into the 1980s.

That it was made for more than thirty years speaks for how complete and how reliable this movement is.
