Unlike the classical Da Vinci with its complications, it appeared as a simple model suited to daily wear.

— What SL means —

SL is said to stand for Sport Line: a series putting weight on lightness and usefulness.

With a round case and a clean dial, it carries a casual air against the intellectual image of the Da Vinci.

The SL line was built mainly around simple three-hand and date models.

The Da Vinci SL carries a mecaquartz movement by Jaeger-LeCoultre, fusing the accuracy of quartz with the feel of a mechanical chronograph.

The base is quartz timekeeping.

A mechanical chronograph module is built on top of it, so the click of the pushers and the movement of the hands are purely mechanical.
