Enicar, a Swiss house whose roots run back to 1854. The name is the founder Ariste Racine's own, reversed, and it carries the pride of the watchmakers who built the firm. As the Saturn motif in its logo suggests, there is something quietly mysterious about the brand's sense of beauty.

A 1960s piece: a sunray dial set against raised black markers, the in-house hand-wound calibre AR 1141, and the Saturn-and-dolphin relief on the case back that records Enicar's pursuit of a properly sealed watch.
