OMEGA Flightmaster ref.ST145.013 cal.910 / Early Version

An early version of the Omega Flightmaster, made for pilots and air traffic controllers.

The Flightmaster is a special watch with yellow hands so that it can be read in places lit by infrared light, such as an aircraft cabin.

Built on the Speedmaster, it adds a GMT hand and a bidirectional bezel, with the highly reliable Cal.910, a refinement of the Cal.861.

The time-zone hand, designed for legibility, is carefully placed to avoid confusion with the dial colour and to strengthen visual separation.

A 24-hour counter sits at nine o'clock, and the substantial case and poppy dial colours are design that stands for the 1970s.

Chronograph hands unified in all-tritium orange and a blue GMT hand are further design decisions made with a pilot's legibility in mind.

The original grey dial has weathered to a brownish tone, and the aged condition is outstanding.

Produced for only two years, it is a model with very low production numbers.
