A rectangular case with real presence. The Art Deco aesthetic that swept the 1930s is concentrated into this one watch.

A two-tone dial built from geometric lines, Arabic indices that show the hand of the craftsman, and blued steel hands that glow deeply and rather seductively as the light shifts.

— The legendary calibre T17 —

Inside is calibre T17, the finest rectangular hand-wound movement in Omega's history: an astonishing power reserve of about 60 hours and, remarkably for the time, a dust cover or inner case. The disassembly instructions engraved in French on that dust cover tell you this watch has been cared for.

"IMPORTÉ DE SUISSE" at the foot of the dial marks it as a piece that crossed the sea from Switzerland.

— The brightness of Staybrite —

The case, 33mm by 22mm and curved to follow the wrist, is made of Staybrite steel. Unlike modern stainless it has a warmth and a particular soft lustre, and it has kept it.

It comes with a scarce original buckle carrying a raised Omega symbol — exactly the detail a collector notices.

— A rare rectangular Omega —

Ninety years on, still beating strongly. The patina the dial has acquired is a work of art that exists in one example only.
