This watch has a lovable alarm sound, something like a cicada, and a soft design that speaks of its period.

The name "MEMOVOX" combines "memo" and "vox," voice.

There are two crowns, which gives it the distinctive look of an alarm watch.

The one at two is for the alarm mainspring, the one at four for the going train's mainspring.

To wind the alarm spring, turn the crown at two upward by hand.

The alarm time is indicated by the triangle on the rotating disc inside the dial.

To switch the alarm on, wind the alarm spring and set the crown at two to its normal position.

(With the crown at two pulled out, the alarm will not sound.)

The system in which the alarm is on when the crown is pushed into its normal position was used by LeCoultre alone.

On alarm watches from other makers, the alarm switches on when the crown is pulled out, which takes care: if the crown is pushed back by accident, the alarm will not work.

LeCoultre's alarm watches have the advantage of being clear and easy to handle.

The Cal.K825 fitted here is a bumper half-rotor automatic mechanism, whose vibration reaches the arm pleasantly as it winds.

Introduced around 1959, it is a Memovox-specific movement adding a calendar display to the Cal.815.

A wearing sensation particular to its period, which no current watch offers, and which many people will find genuinely nostalgic.
