— A dressy 32mm chronograph —
Refined lugs and square pushers: classical design in the manner of the 1940s chronograph.
The dial has taken on patina and the blued steel hands have burnt through to purple — both in superb aged condition.
The Premier, Breitling's elegant dress line. Fitted with the column-wheel Cal. Venus 150 from the distinguished house of Venus. Superbly aged hands turned purple, above a patinated dial. The golden proportion of a 32mm case with square pushers and refined lugs. A historic timepiece, exceptionally scarce on the market, concentrating a great house's ambition.
The design is excellent: two inner registers, with the chapter ring and the sub-dials forming three circles across the face.
— Cal. Venus 150 —
Fitted with calibre 150 from Venus, a distinguished chronograph house.
Introduced in 1938, it is a column-wheel chronograph with a two-register layout: a 30-minute counter and small seconds.
Widely adopted in the 1940s and 1950s by Breitling, Gallet and other established names, it is one of the representative movements that supported the postwar golden age of the chronograph.
— Where the Premier sits —
Made as Breitling's dress line, the Premier is scarce compared with the Chronomat and its siblings.
That the house fitted a complication as demanding as a chronograph so soon after the war says a great deal about the ambition of a firm distinguished in exactly that field.
