MIDO Multifort Super-Automatic

─ A Pioneer of the Practical Watch ─

Introduced by Mido in the 1930s, the Multifort combined water resistance, anti-magnetism, shock resistance and automatic winding.

Features now taken for granted were established by watches such as this one.

─ The Bumper Automatic ─

It is fitted with the Cal.817, a bumper automatic with a half-rotor.

The gentle knock of the rotor at the wrist is a reminder of the early days of self-winding watches.

─ A Case by Borgel ─

A stainless steel case with a ten-sided screw-back,

made by Taubert & Fils (Borgel), which also supplied cases to Patek Philippe and other leading houses.

─ A Dial Shaped by Time ─

The dial has mellowed to a soft cream, set with strong Arabic numerals.

Decades of patina have made it unlike any other.
