Eberhard was founded in 1887 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the home ground of Swiss watchmaking.

It came through the quartz crisis and has stayed family-run for more than 135 years — a rare thing among long-established houses.

During wartime it was adopted as the official watch of Italian naval officers, and it was the first to bring an hour counter and a split-seconds chronograph to market, building a firm standing in both engineering and refined design.

Scientigraf was the pet name given in 1961 to the first antimagnetic watch Eberhard announced.

Forty years later, in 2021, that idea was developed with modern technique and appeared again — a model revived in a form that answers present-day practical needs while inheriting the older one.

This watch is a modern revival of the Cornigliani-graph, developed in 1961 as an antimagnetic watch for engineers.

To secure overwhelming resistance to magnetism it uses a protective soft-iron structure — a Faraday cage — the orthodox, dependable method many makers have trusted for decades, shielding the mechanism inside from magnetic fields.
