"SWISS EMPEROR."
The name has travelled through changing times.
Its origin is 1959, when it was registered as a trademark in Switzerland by Kenroy Trading.
Kenroy Trading was an import-export company established in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, in 1945.
In 1965 Kenroy Trading transferred the SWISS EMPEROR name to E. Gunzinger & Cie, also based in Neuchâtel.
From 1962 into the 1980s the brand appeared in the catalogues of Littlewoods, the mail-order company based in Liverpool, and so reached the British market widely.
E. Gunzinger & Cie was then dissolved in October 1983, and the SWISS EMPEROR name quietly closed its own history.
The movement is the Valjoux 7733.
A movement born as an improved version of the Venus 188.
In the 1960s Valjoux acquired Venus and used that technology to create a movement that changed the history of the chronograph.
Produced as an alternative to the once-expensive column-wheel chronograph, it became the turning point at which the chronograph came within reach of a great many enthusiasts.
Its origins certainly existed, and Swiss Emperor is a brand handed down across the years.
A history wrapped in mystery, and yet a watch that left definite footprints.
Please take it in your hand and feel its appeal for yourself.
